Was ist Preschool USA?
Zunächst einmal, ein Kindergarten in den USA nennt sich Pre-School. In den “kindergarten” gehen Kinder erst, wenn sie in der Schule sind. Es gibt Pre-Schools für Kinder, die noch nicht Windelfrei sind und es gibt auch Pre-Schools in die nur Kinder gehen dürfen, wenn sie schon Windelfrei sind.
Wieso heißt es in den USA Kindergarten?
Es gibt einige deutsche Worte, die in Amerika verwendet werden. „Baumkuchen“, „Doppelgänger“, „Schadenfreude“, „Zeitgeist“, aber auch „Kindergarten“. Weil der Kindergarten eine Erfindung aus Deutschland ist: Genau gesagt, war es Friedrich Fröbel, der im Jahr 1840 den ersten Kindergarten gründete.
What is kin care California law?
“Kin Care” is a right granted to eligible employees, including UC employees, under the California Labor Code. Kin Care authorizes employees to use up to one-half (½) of the sick leave that they accrue annually, to take time off to care for a sick family member.
Who is considered a family member for purposes of kin care?
“Family member” for purposes of kin care is defined by Labor Code §§ 233 and 245.5 (c) to include an employee’s child, parent or guardian, spouse or registered domestic partner, grandchild, grandparent, and sibling.

What is the difference between sick leave and kin care?
If you accrue sick leave, then you are eligible for Kin Care. Employees who are not eligible for sick leave, such as per diem employees, are not eligible for Kin Care. In addition, you must have sick leave available to use on the day of the absence for that absence to be covered under Kin Care.
